Bezděková, Hana ; Busta, Jan (advisor) ; Bačáková, Radka (referee)
Author: Bc. Hana Bezděková Title: The Effect of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation to Cervical Spine Posture in Road Cyclists Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to assess the effect of 6 weeks proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation theraphy on posture of the cervical spine in road cyclists. Methods: This is a quaziexperimental study with general noninvasive examination. Photogammetry was used for evaluation of posture of the cervical spine and craniocervical flexion test was used to assess strength in deep neck flexors. The group that was examined consisted of 8 men and 2 women. Statistical analysis was performed using Shapiro-Wilk test, coupled t-test and regression. The siginificance level was set to α = 0,05. Cohen's d test was used to verify material significance. Results: There was no statistical and effect size significance found in input and output difference of craniovertebral angle in the experimental group after 6 weeks of PNF exercises. On the other hand, we have proven the statistical and effect size significance in strenght of deep cervical flexors before and after PNF treatment. Road cyclists are also, proportionally to time spent road cycling, more vulnerable to forward head posture. Keywords: proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, road cyclists, cervical spine

BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT Name, surname: Václav Matys Supervisor: Ing. Adéla Slámová Consultant: Ing. Mgr. Jana Horynová Title: Stimulation of swallowing within PNF concept in pacient with acquired brain injury A swallowing disorder often occurs as a complication in acquired brain injury diagnosis. In more serious cases it can constitute even life-threatening condition, primarily due to the risk of aspiration and possilbe subsequent development of an inflammatory lung disease. This thesis deals with a possibility of therapeutic influencing of neurogenic dysphagia with utilization of elements of the concept of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation - PNF. Contrary to the fact that exercise on the PNF basis to influence dysphagia isn't used frequently in clinical practice, it represents highly effective and for the therapist easily managable method of therapy. The practical part contains a case history of patients with dysphagia, to whom the therapy on the PNF basis was applied. The goal of the bachelor thesis is to create an educative material for a community of experts, particularly physiotherapist as well as speech pathologists or occupational therapists, and thus support interdisciplinary cooperation in the care of dysphagia patients. The result of the thesis is a formation of the therapeutic procedure...

Alharthi, Faisal Fahad M ; Maršáková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Smejkal, Petr (referee)
Physiotherapeutic case study of hemorrhagic stroke in the cerebellum with hemiplegia patient as bachelor thesis is provided for you to show the full kiensiological assessment, special therapy approaches and therapy effect during 9 sessions. The farther goal of this thesis is to explain the clinical picture, physiological, biomechanics points of view. During my clinical practice, we used the main structure for the Kinesiological assessment according to the Prague School approaches. Manual muscle testing according to Kendall and Janda were used also. Due to the instructions and the protocols from the UVN hospital in Prague the main therapy concept was following " Grasies Concept" for stroke patients. Finally, we applied final kinesiological assessment to compare the patient situation before and after the therapy with focusing on the "Grasies Concept" effect. As a result of our work we found that the "Gracies concept" shows a great result in spastic pattern prevention more on the lower extremity. However, significant improvement in patient stability and verticalization ability which influence the improvement in ADL scale results. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Benešová, Martina ; Holubářová, Jiřina (advisor) ; Pavlů, Dagmar (referee)
Title: PNF technique after arthroscopic stabilization of the shoulder joint Objectives: The objective of this work is to consider the possibility of use of the proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation technique (PNF) in early stages of rehabilitation after arthroscopic stabilization of the shoulder joint. The idea is to use the phenomen of irradiation with which this concept works. Methods: The pilot experimental group consisted of 7 healthy participants with simulated arthroscopic stabilization of the left shoulder joint. The electromyography was used to record the electric activity of musculus trapezius pars descendens, pars transversa et pars ascendens, musculus deltoideus pars acromialis, musculus infraspinatus and musculus pectoralis major pars sternocostalis on the immobilized left arm; while using the PNF technique on the peripheral parts of the immobilised arm; and on the contra lateral arm. A 5s sequence of stabilised isometric contraction was analysed and all data further normalised to Maximal Voluntary Contraction (MVC). Considering the literature the 20% increase above the MVC was defined as substantial to assure sufficient functional capacity of the muscle fibres and therefore sufficient to stop muscle atrophy during immobilisation of the arm. Results: Results of this study support...

Vítková, Michaela ; Jeníček, Jakub (advisor) ; Konopáčová, Eva (referee)
Title of thesis: The possibilities of physiotherapy in patients with Myasthenia gravis. Diagnostics and therapy. Abstract: This bachelor thesis discusses the possibilities of physiotherapy in patients with the neurological disease, Myasthenia Gravis. A physical therapy can be an important part of the treatment in myasthenic patients. The theoretical part of the thesis includes all the important information about Myasthenia Gravis - clinical symptoms, pathogenesis, diagnostics, treatment and selected physiotherapeutic methods. The practical part contains the case study of two selected pacients. The goal of the practical part was to find out what physiotherapeutical methods are suitable for patients with Myasthenia gravis and if a regular physical activity contributes to good health. The therapy was divided into two parts where one part took two weeks. The standardized scores were used to compare the results before and after the therapy. These scores are described in the theoretical part of the thesis. The output examination confirmed an improvement in both cases. Key words: Myasthenia Gravis, physiotherapy, self-treatment, PNF, Kenny method, Bobath concept, respiratory physiotherapy, Brunkow method

Koderová, Michaela ; Holubářová, Jiřina (advisor) ; Pánek, David (referee)
Title: Effects of PNF to change the motoric stereotype of the abduction in the shoulder joint Objectives: The aim of this thesis, which is conceived as a pilot experimental study is to verify the changes in the timing of selected muscles during stereotype abduction of the shoulder after performing repetitive cyclic motion by therapeutic method PNF if a specific number of repetitions of the movement is performed. Methods: This is a pilot experimental study, which was done on seven probands, 4 men and 3 women with an average age of 26.6 years. The surface EMG muscle activity was scanned on selected muscles during the motoric testing of stereotype of the abduction of the shoulder joint before and after the PNF techniques. The EMG signal was then analyzed and we evaluated the timing of muscles before and after the PNF techniques. The results were then compared in terms of both intra-individually and inter-individually comparison. Results: Results provided contradictory answers to the fundamental questions relating to changes in the timing of selected muscles after PNF techniques. In terms of the change in intra-individually timing after PNF hypothesis was proved. But from the perspective of inter-individually comparison the hypothesis was not proved. Keywords: PNF, surface electromyography, motion...
Comparison of rhythmic stabilization according to Kabat with the techniques used in practice.
Horáková, Klára ; Holubářová, Jiřina (advisor) ; Pánek, David (referee)
Title: Comparison of rhythmic stabilization according to Kabat with the techniques used in practice. Objectives: The main aim of this thesis was to measure and compare the level of muscle activity and the level of cocontraction of Muscle quadratus lumborum sinister, obliquus internus abdominis sinister, rectus abdominis sinister and dexter obliquus externus abdominis, which were exposed to different stabilization techniques - rhythmic stabilization and technique used in practice - technique "pushing". Methods: This is an experimental study which is analyzed and then assessing the level of cocontraction of antagonists and the degree of muscle strength in two different ways- the technique of PNF and technique pushing. We use a surface electromyography as an objectification method. The sample consisted of 7 probands. Results: It was discovered that left side lying position not enlarged to the level of activity of all muscles required, therefore the muscles involved in PNF diagonals. Prerequisite increased level of activation during rhythmic stabilization technique according to Kabat was confirmed only in m. quadratus lumborum sinister and m. obliquus externus abdominis dexter and the values statistically insignificant. Participation of the rectus abdominis though its dominant and statistically...
